Big Belly Breathing (BBB) is an audio program primarily for kids in English and French focusing on health and wellness, started by Vanessa Hutchinson-Szekely.

As a teacher, a parent of bilingual kids & a yoga instructor/social emotional learner facilitator and holistic health & wellness coach, Vanessa wants to encourage children to thrive through establishing daily health habits.

Healthy Habits = Happy Kids

While listening, kids learn techniques to increase their creativity and attention spans. By practicing mindfulness, breathing, & gratitude kids experience mini-moments of deep rest that help them to reset, restore and recalibrate.

In today's busy world of multi-tasking, BBB is a place to help kids get centered, grounded and feel good. By practicing techniques learned here, kids develop their own self-care rituals, routines and habits.

These tools benefit their mind, body and heart health and set them up for greater joy in their present lives, and as adults.

So that kids aren't the only ones reaping these benefits, Vanessa has also included meditations specifically for older teens or adults!

And, there's now a sub series called "Cheese & Burritos" about lifestyle and cultural phenomenons in California and France! Eventually, this exclusive series will be only for subscribers. Enjoy the current unlocked episodes :)

Wandering through Gratitude: A Heartfelt Journey to Dover’s Hidden Treasures

Hello there! Bonjour and welcome to Big Belly Breathing, bienvenue to health!

My name is Vanessa Hutchinson-Szekely, and I’m thrilled to guide you on this month’s audio journey, where we’ll practice mindfulness and our special breathing technique.

This month’s theme is Gratitude, and our breathing practice is called "Heart Circle." Place your hands gently over your heart, and as you breathe in, move your hands in a slow circle, feeling the warmth of gratitude filling your chest. As you breathe out, reverse the circle, letting any tension or worries flow away with the breath.

Today, we’re going to visit some beautiful places in Delaware and reflect on the beauty and gratitude we can find all around us. Delaware may be small, but it’s rich with history, nature, and places that bring us closer to the world around us.

To begin, find a comfortable position, close your eyes, and allow your body to relax. Take a deep breath in, filling your lungs completely, and slowly exhale, releasing any tension. Imagine yourself gently arriving in the historic town of Dover, Delaware, the state’s charming capital.

Visualization:

Today, we start our journey in **Dover’s historic district**, where the streets are lined with brick sidewalks and old, elegant buildings that tell stories of the past. Imagine yourself standing by the Old State House, a beautiful colonial building with red bricks and white shutters. You feel a sense of gratitude for the history that has shaped this place and the people who have walked these streets before you. You place your hands on your heart, moving them in that gentle circle as you breathe in the rich history and exhale any tension.

As we move through Dover, we take a quiet stroll through the **First State Heritage Park**. This park stretches across several blocks, connecting museums, historical sites, and peaceful green spaces. Picture yourself walking on a tree-lined path, breathing in the fresh air and noticing the warm sun on your face. You feel grateful for this moment, for the gentle beauty of nature, and the chance to connect with the calm around you. With each step, your body relaxes, feeling the energy of this historic place fill you with peace.

Next, we travel to **Cape Henlopen State Park**, a bit further south. As we arrive, you can see the Atlantic Ocean stretching endlessly before you, its waves gently crashing onto the sandy shore. Take a deep breath, smelling the salty sea air, and place your hands over your heart, feeling gratitude for the vastness of nature and the serenity it brings. Imagine walking along the soft sand, watching seabirds glide above and feeling the cool breeze on your face. The ocean is powerful yet calm, just like the gratitude flowing through you.

Now, let’s imagine a visit to **Rehoboth Beach**, a lively and colorful town with a beautiful boardwalk. Picture yourself strolling along the boardwalk, hearing the cheerful sounds of laughter and music. You see bright umbrellas, vibrant murals, and people enjoying ice cream. You feel a sense of joy and appreciation for the warmth of community and the joy that simple pleasures bring. With each breath, you feel more connected to the energy around you, and with each step, you feel gratitude filling your heart.

From Rehoboth Beach, let’s journey north to the **Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library**. This beautiful estate is surrounded by sprawling gardens that bloom with color in every season. Imagine yourself wandering through lush greenery, surrounded by flowers of all kinds. The air is filled with the scent of blooming roses, and as you walk along, you feel deeply connected to nature's beauty. You place your hands over your heart once again, breathing in deeply and feeling gratitude for the earth and all the living things it nurtures.

Finally, we end our journey by visiting the **Nemours Estate**, with its grand mansion and elegant gardens. Picture yourself standing by the reflective pond, watching the peaceful ripples on the water’s surface. You take a deep breath in, feeling gratitude for life’s simple beauties, and exhale, letting go of any worries. This moment reminds you of the importance of gratitude, and you feel a sense of calm and completeness.

 Closing:

As we finish our journey through Delaware, take one last deep breath, and place your hands over your heart, moving them in a gentle circle to hold onto the gratitude we’ve found today. When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes, bringing with you the peace, joy, and appreciation you’ve gathered on this journey.

Remember, you can return to this visualization and Heart Circle breathing whenever you need a moment of calm and gratitude. Thank you for joining me on this voyage. How does your body, brain, and heart feel now? When you practice mindfulness and focus on your breathing, you’re nourishing your whole self.
